Go ahead and allow your eyes to close………take two or three deep, full breaths, and focus on relaxing your muscles, all of your muscles, fully and completely………..you might start with the muscles around your eyes…….letting them relax so fully and completely that they just stay closed …………….and now you could focus on the muscles of your forehead ……………..you've seen people when they are concerned or worried, how the muscles on their forehead contract………and the way their eyebrows pull together …………I find myself wishing I could just reach out and wipe the worried lines on someone’s forehead smooth ……….just allow the muscles of your forehead to be smooth and relaxed …………..relax any tension there ……….and now just be aware of your body ……….. notice any tension anywhere in your body …………and release it ……………let all of your muscles be relaxed …………..especially the muscles of your arms ……………you will know when your arm muscles are completely relaxed because when the muscles of your arms are fully and completely relaxed, it will be impossible to lift them ……………a fully relaxed muscle cannot move unless it tenses up again ………………..this is how you can relax on your own ………..anytime ……….anywhere …………….by simply becoming aware of your body, and your muscles ………and releasing any tension you find ………until the muscles are as fully and completely relaxed as you can allow them to become …………..and while muscle tension won't prevent you from being able to go into trance………….it is much easier to go into the trance state when you are relaxed………….. ……………when you feel you've relaxed your muscles, especially the muscles of your arms, just try to lift your arms and see what happens …………….take your time ………………noticing that when you muscles are relaxed they seem heavy ………………but comfortably heavy …………….like the feeling of a warm blanket on a cold night …………………and you can stop trying to lift your arms ……………..and let your muscles relax even more completely………………and as you continue now to go further into trance ………… allow your subconscious mind to come forward …………..and allow your conscious mind to drift wherever it wants to ……………….and regardless of what you are consciously feeling, your subconscious can be very relaxed and comfortable ……………so it's okay for you to consciously feel whatever you feel, and to consciously be thinking whatever you are thinking ……………..because all that really matters right now is the experience of your subconscious mind ………… to go into trance you simply let your conscious mind drift ………….while I talk directly with the subconscious ………………… and the subconscious mind has incredible influence over your body, and your senses……………………….. your subconscious mind can help you to perceive things any way you would like to ……………..such as feeling cool when you know it's hot ……………….. or immersing yourself in silence when you are surrounded by noise……………….. I have often found myself blinded by noise ………..when I walk into a room that is too crowded and too loud, I can't make sense of what I am seeing …………..until I tune the noises and distractions out …………..and then my sight becomes clear ……………..athletes do this, so do professional sharp shooters …………….in order to focus on their task, they allow the rest of the world to fall away ……………all noises and distractions fade into the background ……………..their subconscious mind comes forward, helping their focus ………….the conscious mind takes a back seat ……………these professionals go into a special kind of trance this way ………….. hypnosis can be different for everyone ………….and it can be different for you each time you allow yourself to go into the hypnotic state …………….(PAUSE RECORDING!!!) and you are able to do things in hypnosis that you may never have imagined doing in your conscious waking state ………. (I'm sure you remember the time I asked you to let your body go into a deep sleep from the neck down, and to wake up from the neck up only, this was such a wonderful example of the amazing things You can do in trance.) I'm going to ask you to ( do it again, to), let your body go deep, deep asleep from the neck down, but to wake up from the neck up. So, right now, as I count down from 5 to 0 zero, your body, from the neck down, will go deeply, deeply asleep, fully and completely asleep, and this may feel strange, but it will also be comfortable at the same time, and even as your body from the neck down is going deeply asleep as I count from 5 to 0, your head, from the neck up, will become more and more awake, so that when I reach the number 0 your body will be completely asleep from the neck down, and your head will be awake from the neck up, your eyes will open on the count of 0, and you can take a few moments to just experience that before you go back even more deeply into trance. Now………letting your body, from the neck down, go deeply deeply asleep as I count from 5 to 0, while letting your head, from the neck up, become more and more awake and opening your eyes on the count of 0………….5 4 3 2 1 0, eyes open ……………………………………………….

That's good, now just close your eyes again, and as I count from 3 to 0 your body will stay very comfortable and relaxed, but only staying asleep if you want it to, and your head, from the neck up, going back into a much deeper state of trance as I count down ………..so that when I reach the number zero, you are back in a wonderful trance state, from head to toe …………….as relaxed as you want to be, and as deep in trance as you care to go …………..3 going deeper from the neck up, 2 your body staying relaxed, and comfortable, and only staying asleep if you want it to, 1 finding yourself going much more deeply ………..0, finding yourself in a wonderful trance state ………………..just taking a deep breath ……….as you go even deeper ……………………and hypnosis is kind of like the ocean ………………no one really knows how deep it is, just when they think they've found the bottom, they find a new hole …………a way to go deeper, much deeper …………….the depths of the hypnotic state are limitless …………and you can go as deeply into hypnosis as you like ……………….never going more deeply than is appropriate for you………….and now, no matter what you are seeing, or feeling, or doing, imagine that huge helium balloon is being tied to your left wrist ……………it's enormous, an enormous helium balloon, the size of a small car, and this balloon has been attached to your left wrist ………………..and feel your wrist as it is being pulled up, ever so gently, your left wrist floating up, being pulled up by the weight of that balloon ………..(exhale) lifting ………ever so gently (exhale) lifting ………………higher and higher ……………..higher and higher ………..and your arm/hand/wrist just dangles there, held up by this enormous balloon ………… just take a deep, full breath as you open your eyes now and look at your arm ……………..Good …………just close your eyes …………….and as I count from 5 to 0 the balloon will begin to shrink ……………getting smaller and smaller with every number that I say, and your arm will slowly lower back down, and when I reach the number 0, the balloon will be completely empty of helium and your arm will be resting again …………….5 and the balloon is shrinking, shrinking, and your arm begins to float back down, 4 …………3 …………2 ………….1 …………..0 and your arm is just resting comfortably again as you find your self going even deeper into trance. And if you like now, you can simply let your mind drift off …………you can imagine yourself doing something that you enjoy, and whatever you'd like to do is fine ………..you could simply imagine yourself


and whatever you are doing, whatever you are seeing or feeling is just fine ………… just allow yourself to continue sinking deeper and deeper into trance as I go on talking …………….as I go on giving you suggestions to help you
